CASAS Appraisal Training for Placement
This training is required for those implementing
only CASAS Appraisals. This training
teaches participants how to administer, score, and
interpret appraisal test results; make
recommendations or referrals based on the results;
and collect quality data. Successful completion of
this training qualifies the participant to order and

Implementation Training to give additional
information on administering CASAS tests,
interpreting test results, and using curriculum
support materials to enhance instruction. This
training also incorporates state-specific
information to familiarize participants with some of
the requirements that agencies must fulfill for
program, state, and federal accountability.

Contextualized Instruction: Keeping It Real
|
|
|
|
|
Description: "Why do I have to learn this?"
"This doesn't make sense!" "This is stupid!"
Students struggling to learn often make comments
like these. They find it difficult to connect with
what is being taught and the way it is being
taught. Research shows that contextual teaching
enhances student motivation and skill gains. This
six hour interactive training, participants will
learn how to: integrate student goals and skill
mastery, recognize foundational principles for
effective adult learning, identify and use various
frameworks for classroom instruction, and use
elements of contextual teaching and learning to plan
a lesson. |
